John Romano to Headline Aviator Series on Dec. 13th

The Quonset Air Museum is pleased to announce that Capt. John Romano, U.S. Navy (Ret.) will be the December speaker as part of the QAM's monthly Aviator Series. The former Navy pilot will speak at the QAM on Wednesday, December 13th at 7pm. Captain Romano's lecture is open to the public at no charge.

The Navy Pilot flew in -40 degree weather conditions at the South Pole

Part of Antarctica is even named after the Naval aviator. It's called the Gurnon Peninsula. The Lt. Commander will speak at the Quonset Air Museum on Wednesday, November 8th at 7pm.

A one of a kind color print will be presented at the QAM this Saturday

The event will take place at 10am

North Kingstown, RI- This Saturday, October 7th at 10am, representatives from the USS Intrepid Museum based in New York City will present the Quonset Air Museum with a rare photo. The print captures the famous aircraft carrier from one of its stays in dry dock at Quonset Point. Click For More.

The Navy pilot was one of the first to spot a German U-Boat off Block Island in the final days of the fight against Germany in WWII. The German submarine would eventually sink the SS Black Point off Pt. Judith killing twelve. It was Germany's last sub attack of the war, but the story doesn't end there.

North Kingstown, RI-- The Quonset Air Museum is proud to announce that retired Navy pilot and Anti-Submarine Specialist John Gordon Bradley, Jr. will be its guest lecturer on Wednesday, October 11th at 7pm as part of the museum's monthly Aviator Series. Bradley's talk will be held at the Quonset Air Museum in North Kingstown and is open to the public at no charge.

North Kingstown Students Win “What Memorial Day Means to Me” Essay Contest

Four students from the Davisville Middle School and Quidnesset Elementary won the “What Memorial Day Means to Me” essay contest sponsored by the Quonset Air Museum. As part of the Museum’s ongoing educational programs, Brand Kaplan, 6th grade, Alyssa Powers, 6th grade, Jessica Still, 6th grade, and Randall Minogue, 5th grade were awarded with the opportunity to be passengers in the Museum’s “Ranger” helicopter float during the Memorial Day Parade in Wickford where they could be recognized for their achievement.
