Bell UH-1H Iroquois

History
Bell (model 205A-1) UH-1H (1965-1986) is identical to the UH-1D
but is equipped with an upgraded engine that allows transport of
up to 13 troops. The UH-1H has a two-bladed semi-rigid seesaw bonded
all-metal main rotor and a two-bladed rigid delta hinge bonded all-metal
tail rotor. A single LYCOMING T53-L-13B 1400 shp, turboshaft engine
powers the UH-1H. More UH-1H Huey’s were built than any other model.
In a ceremony Tuesday morning, February 21, 1995, The Rhode Island
Agency for Federal Surplus and the Rhode Island Army National Guard
presented the Bell UH-1H Huey Helicopter complementing the museums
collection of helicopters. Many examples saw action in the Vietnam
War. Total production of the UH-1H was 5,435.
